Full Description:

 Administers the CalWORKs program in Solano County. Provides cash assistance to families caring for children under age 18, pregnant women in their last trimester, and pregnant teens. CalWORks provides temporary financial assistance and employment focused services.

Offers a program for designated recipients of CalWORKs that provides job training and support services for clients in order to help them reach self-sufficiency and independence from the welfare system through employment.

Provides health care coverage for medical treatment and prescription medications to low-income, indigent adults. It is available to needy adults who are not eligible for Medi-Cal.

Also provides general assistance to offer cash assistance to adults without a dependent child. GA is a loan that must be repaid.

Wait for service:Calworks - up to 45 days to grant for application to be processed;

Eligibility:Calworks - Solano County resident must have child(ren) age (18 or under), pregnant woman in her last trimester, or pregnant teen;

Health care insurance - based on income, resources such as bank accounts, and property. The value of one house that the client lives in is not counted. There are no restrictions on pre-existing conditions if a person is eligible for this program

MediCal - based on income, resources such as bank accounts, and property. The value of one house that the client lives in is not counted. There are no restrictions on pre-existing conditions if a person is eligible for this program.
