Financial Help Provided: Emergency financial assistance

Full Description:

Office hours: Mondays through Fridays 9am - 4:30pm.

Emergency financial assistance is offered on a limited basis, you are able to call Monday – Friday during regular business hours. We schedule appointments 2 weeks in advance so that each day there will be at least 2 appointments available to those who qualify.
There must be an emergency, you must be a resident of Orange County for at least 1 year, and if you have received assistance from another agency within the past 3 months, it is possible you will not qualify with us and you will be referred back to that agency.
During a phone screening a staff member will ask questions, but the documentation that is needed will not be asked of until the date of your appointment. You must bring copies of all the documents, which include:
ID for the head of household
SS Cards for everyone in the household,
    lease,
    proof of expenses (bills),
proof of income (pay stubs, food stamp letter, etc.),
    and proof of emergency.
A few other things may be asked for, like the landlord’s phone and fax number or job searches, but that is dependent on your situation.
Emergency Financial Assistance criteria may change, depending upon the case requirements.
For any other questions please contact the Social Services office at: 407-423-8581

Tips For Prompt And Professional Assistance
1. Make an appointment - Always attempt to make an appointment. Oftentimes this will save you hours waiting in lines. When on the phone make sure you ask for the documentation needed in order to receive assistance.

2. Do not be late for your appointment - This tip should speak for itself.

3. Dress appropriately - If you want to be treated with respect, dress as appropriately as possible. We are not saying wear a suit. Just make sure you and your clothes are clean and non offensive. We have found that clients who dress in this manner have a better chance of receiving aid.

4. Bring all pre determined documentation - Bring all of the documents you were advised to bring from your appointment phone call. Without them, you will not receive aid.
