Financial Help Provided: MIAMI-DADE County Temporary Cash Assistance Department Children Families.

Full Description: The TCA program (Temporary Cash Assistance Program) provides cash assistance to families with children under the age of 18 or under age 19 if full time secondary (high school) school students, that meet the technical, income, and asset requirements.

This is a great program for single mothers who need cash assistance. The program helps families become self-supporting while allowing children to remain in their own homes. Pregnant women may also receive TCA, either in the third trimester of pregnancy if unable to work, or in the 9th month of pregnancy. Parents, children and minor siblings who live together must apply together.

This program also provides food assistance. Individuals and families can buy food for themselves and their families.

We have provided the address of the MIAMI-DADE County office. You can apply for the Cash Assistance Program at this office or apply online at the Department of Children and families website: http://www.dcf.state.fl.us/programs/access/tca.shtml.

Tips For Prompt And Professional Assistance
1. Make an appointment - Always attempt to make an appointment. Oftentimes this will save you hours waiting in lines. When on the phone make sure you ask for the documentation needed in order to receive assistance.

2. Do not be late for your appointment - This tip should speak for itself.

3. Dress appropriately - If you want to be treated with respect, dress as appropriately as possible. We are not saying wear a suit. Just make sure you and your clothes are clean and non offensive. We have found that clients who dress in this manner have a better chance of receiving aid.

4. Bring all pre determined documentation - Bring all of the documents you were advised to bring from your appointment phone call. Without them, you will not receive aid.
