Financial Help Provided: Rental Payment Assistance




Full Description:

This program is for renters only and does not include the city limits of Cedar Rapids. Eligible participants must be renters and have an eviction notice, or possibility of losing rental housing, or be homeless, or a homeowner who is losing their home and will be renting. If homeless and no shelters are available, the person could be placed in a motel for immediate shelter needs and will work with a case worker. If a person is in danger of being on the street, this program can assist with rent deposits and payments, utility deposits and payments (if denied LiHEAP), past due rent and utilities, as well as temporary housing costs and moving expenses. A requirement of the program is to work with an assigned case worker who will assist the individual with their housing needs up to 18 months.

To be eligible for services: Homeless, or near homeless, individuals and families at imminent risk of evection and who are at 50% of median income

4. Bring all pre determined documentation - Bring all of the documents you were advised to bring from your appointment phone call. Without them, you will not receive aid.
