The Greater Urban League DC provides rent or mortgage and utility assistance to individuals and families living in Ward 5 of the District of Columbia through the DC Emergency Assistance Fund. Prevents the homelessness of singles and families and provides assisted clients with the case management and supportive services for 90 days to prevent future dependency on emergency assistance agencies. To be eligible for services must be a  Ward 5 residents, in receipt of a court or eviction notice, disconnected utility services or cut-off notice, with an emergency situation contributing to an inability to pay, but with an ability to make future payments and a willingness to work with a case worker over a period of 90 days on a realistic budget plan.
