Full Description:

Emergency Assistance is provided by the Community Action Program Committe. Utility Assistance is provided along with a number of other financial programs for assistance.

Assist clients with short-term crisis needs.  Evaluate and document long-term clients needs using agency's system of coaching.  conduct agency classes for clients' self-improvement (i.e. Money Smart, etc).  Process applications for medicines and medical supplies.  Coordinate with the In-between-Ministries Program to service the clients.

Coordinate with the Medicine for Free Program to service the clients.  Assist in developing expanded youth programming.  Assist in developing a partnership of referral with Children Services.  Report monthly on ROMA goals, number of Mt. Canaan In-Between Ministries clients assisted through FEMA Recovery Fund and number of clients assisted through other programs.
 
Coordinate with utility vendors for payment.  Establish and maintain good working relationships with businesses service providers to promote goodwill.

1. Make an appointment - Always attempt to make an appointment. Oftentimes this will save you hours waiting in lines. When on the phone make sure you ask for the documentation needed in order to receive assistance.

2. Do not be late for your appointment - This tip should speak for itself.

3. Dress appropriately - If you want to be treated with respect, dress as appropriately as possible. We are not saying wear a suit. Just make sure you and your clothes are clean and non offensive. We have found that clients who dress in this manner have a better chance of receiving aid.

4. Bring all pre determined documentation - Bring all of the documents you were advised to bring from your appointment phone call. Without them, you will not receive aid.
