Full Description:

Provides Energy assistance programs. Heating assistance in the winter and cooling assistance in the summers.

Must live in the service area.

The Energy Assistance Program helps pay a portion of a client's winter heating bills. Summer Cooling also provides air conditioners or utility bill credits in summer months, depending on a family's situation.

Also provides Housing Choice Vouchers. Normally there is a long waiting list, but it doesn't hurt to call and be put on the list.
The Housing Choice Voucher Program helps pay a portion of a family’s rent. Families can live in safe housing they could not otherwise afford.

Eligibility for the Housing Choice Voucher program is based on a family's household income. The voucher covers a portion of the rent and the tenant is expected to pay the balance. The tenants’ share is an affordable percentage of their income and is generally calculated to be between 30 to 40 percent of their monthly-adjusted gross income for rent and utilities.
