Full Description: A trustee is responsible for helping persons experiencing financial distress in their township only. Trustees require the completion of an application for assistance, a thorough investigation and, when found eligible, assists in the most economical means available.

A person or family is in need if there is not enough income or resources to provide the basic necessities of life. Necessities of life include: food, shelter, essential utilities, medical needs, household supplies, clothing (including shoes), transportation to seek and/or maintain employment, and other basic needs.

If you're a resident of Brazil township and need assistance, contact the Township Office for more information and to apply.

May be able to assist persons in need living in Brazil township with basic needs assistance, such as:

Food
Rent or mortgage
Medical care, insulin
Utilities
Household goods
Fuel oil, propane, coal assistance
Clothing
Burial expenses
Work transportation
Assistance is at the discretion of the trustee. Denials of assistance can be appealed to the county commissioner; information on appealing is included in the denial letter.

Provide documentation of income and expenses for all household members
Provide end of week income or financial need
