Boca Helping Hands provides many resources to clients facing financial difficulties. First and foremost, we are a "resource center" providing additional options and referrals. Secondly, we assist our clients in preparing a realistic monthly budget so that they can meet their financial obligations. As we work on our clients' budgets, we can suggest numerous alternatives to alleviate their financial burden. Finally, under certain circumstances, we offer direct financial assistance.

Financial assistance is offered to clients who have been residents of Boca Raton for at least 12 months. Clients must bring in proof of residency. Clients may receive limited financial assistance in a twelve month period for aid with rent (must have a 3 day notice from landlord), utilities (must have final notice from F.P.L. or Water Department), medicines excluding anti-depressants and pain medicines (must have doctor’s prescription), and/or bus passes (to a place of employment or to a doctor’s appointment). Prospective clients should contact the Resource Center in advance of appointment to determine the appropriate and necessary documents they should bring to their screening. Note, financial assistance is rendered as available. Not all clients qualify, nor are funds available to assist every qualified applicant. Boca Helping Hands has the final determination of the amount of financial aid rendered, if any.

Tips For Prompt And Professional Assistance
1. Make an appointment - Always attempt to make an appointment. Oftentimes this will save you hours waiting in lines. When on the phone make sure you ask for the documentation needed in order to receive assistance.

2. Do not be late for your appointment - This tip should speak for itself.

3. Dress appropriately - If you want to be treated with respect, dress as appropriately as possible. We are not saying wear a suit. Just make sure you and your clothes are clean and non offensive. We have found that clients who dress in this manner have a better chance of receiving aid.

4. Bring all pre determined documentation - Bring all of the documents you were advised to bring from your appointment phone call. Without them, you will not receive aid.
