Everyone is welcome to enjoy and participate in most of our programs, no matter where you live.  The Emergency Food Pantry is the only program with geographical restrictions.

All of our Programs are Free!

Drop-In Center/Community Space:  Come on in, meet friends, hang out, help out!  We also have watch movies (Thursday evenings from 3-6:45) and have seasonal field trips and celebrations.

Fresh Food Distribution: From 11-11:20AM come in and get fresh bread, baked goods and produce.  We also distribute the fresh food after lunch (at 1PM) and on Thursdays at 3PM and 4:30PM.

Lunch: We serve a nutritious lunch (tossed salad, fruit salad, vegetarian main courses, several meat main coureses, side dishes and dessert) from noon-1PM.

Dinner: We serve a light meal on Thursdays from 4:30-6:30PM.  It usually consists of sandwiches, pizza and soup.  On occassion groups come in to cook something special.

Emergency Food Pantry: Residents of Amherst, Belchertown, Deerfield, Granby, Hadley, Leverett, Pelham, Shutesbury, South Deerfield, South Hadley, Sunderland, and Whately can get a monthly food box (consisting of non-perishables, frozen meat and often dairy, eggs and juice).  For this program you will need proof of address, a photo ID and proof of others in your household.  We will ask you to fill out a brief intake form as well.

Free Store: Clothing, books, shoes, household items, children’s toys, etc. are all available in our Free Store.  Families can take up to one small plastic bag of items each visit to the Store.  If you are looking for something in particular, we can note it and call you when it comes in.

Free Health Clinic: In our walk-in clinic, doctors are able to diagnose, write prescriptions, give second opinions, and give physical exams.   This program is only available on Mondays from 12-1PM and Thursdays from 5-6PM.   Please get here at least 15 minutes before the clinic closes to ensure that you will be seen.  (The Doctors are willing to stay longer to see everyone who signed up.)

Tips For Prompt And Professional Assistance
1. Make an appointment - Always attempt to make an appointment. Oftentimes this will save you hours waiting in lines. When on the phone make sure you ask for the documentation needed in order to receive assistance.

2. Do not be late for your appointment - This tip should speak for itself.

3. Dress appropriately - If you want to be treated with respect, dress as appropriately as possible. We are not saying wear a suit. Just make sure you and your clothes are clean and non offensive. We have found that clients who dress in this manner have a better chance of receiving aid.

4. Bring all pre determined documentation - Bring all of the documents you were advised to bring from your appointment phone call. Without them, you will not receive aid.
