Full Description:

Appointments are now needed to apply for Financial Services.  You can schedule an appointment by leaving a message in the financial services voicemail – OR – at  the Food Pantry on Monday :  2:30 – 4:00pm,  Wednesday: 5:00 – 7:00pm.,  or Friday:  10:00am – 11:00 am.  Please call if you have any questions about this process.

Financial Assistance are funded through sales from our Thrift Shop as well as cash donations. As winter approaches, we will see a surge in need with medical bills and utility payments. We invite you to donate online or provide a donation to our Thrift Shop to help restock our Financial Assistance fund.

Our Financial Assistance fund provides financial support to people who are experiencing a personal or financial crisis. We help with items including rent, propane, gas, medical bills, car payments and utilities. Payments are made directly to the provider (landlord, utility company, etc.) Clients are able to seek Financial Assistance help from Flat River Outreach Ministries once within our Fiscal Year, which starts July 1 and ends June 30.   We also coordinate services with organizations such as ACCESS 6 and local churches. In addition, we provide clients with a list of agencies they can contact on their own for additional resources.

Tips For Prompt And Professional Assistance
1. Make an appointment - Always attempt to make an appointment. Oftentimes this will save you hours waiting in lines. When on the phone make sure you ask for the documentation needed in order to receive assistance.

2. Do not be late for your appointment - This tip should speak for itself.

3. Dress appropriately - If you want to be treated with respect, dress as appropriately as possible. We are not saying wear a suit. Just make sure you and your clothes are clean and non offensive. We have found that clients who dress in this manner have a better chance of receiving aid.

4. Bring all pre determined documentation - Bring all of the documents you were advised to bring from your appointment phone call. Without them, you will not receive aid.
